After being released from prison after 25 years, New York Mafia captain Dwight “The General” Manfredi is deported to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sylvester Stallone’s first starring role in a television series. Dwight ‘The General’ Manfredi: I don’t really go to church.

The opening credits sequence shows various photographic and painted views, as well as Oklahoma landmarks superimposed on the New York City skyline: Sioux Indian Chief “Touch the Clouds” statue; wearing War Bonnet and Bone Choker (breastplate) placed atop the Brooklyn Bridge Golden Driller Statue placed on the Statue of Liberty Route 66 Western Gateway Arch placed on Major Manhattan “Avenue”. In New York City, in the borough of Manhattan, there are several numbered “Avenues”; which are interspersed with smaller numbered streets… I’ve been enjoying Tulsa King so far.

This is a fun cop show that knows exactly what it wants to be, and you can tell the cast, led by Sylvester Stallone, is having a blast making it. It’s about a New York mob boss named Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone), who is released from prison after 25 years. He thinks he’s being welcomed as a hero, but instead he’s sent to Tulsa to run things.
After not getting the love he should from his gang, he sets out to build his own in Tulsa
You might find it a little silly, but overall it’s a really good show that’s definitely worth watching. It’s obviously doing well because it’s already been renewed for a second season, which is great news! Check out our review of “Yellowstone” Season 5, Episode 2, “The Octopus Game”; Season two and more of the most anticipated new and returning series coming to TV and streaming.
