Space infection is infection spreading to the facial spaces in head and neck region from one or many teeth infected. These spaces are filled with loose connective tissues. These connective tissues are very easy to breakdown so little amount of pus accumulation lead to huge swelling of face.
There are so many space present for infection like , Submandibular space, Lingual space , Submental space, pterygoid space, temporal space etc… , its depending on the site of infection.
It proper care and early treatment removal of cause and antibiotics will resolve the infection. If it is not properly treated then it will also lead to life threatening cause.
