Direct Hair transplant
In direct hair transplantation each hair follicle is placed directly into the recipient site after harvesting. Recovery is fast and this technique is almost painless. And it gives more natural results.
What is hair transplant and how it works ??
Hair transplant is a surgical procedure in which hair follicle from one part of the body is extracted and placed on the bald areas.
There are two types of hairs in all persons:
- Which are affected by hormones (Androgens) like frontal and Vertex hairs, on scalp.
- Hair which are not affected by hormones, like the hairs situated at back of head. These hairs stay for life time. If these hairs are taken from here and transplanted on to bald area, then they will also stay for life-time.
Who can go for Hair transplant ?
Loss of hair in front region i.e. Hair line
Recession at the Temple area
More extensive hair loss on the top and crown area (Middle Part of your scalp or head )
Adding density to thinned out area of scalp (Placement hair graft between your hair)
Correcting a poorly transplanted area
Correcting less hair ( Hypotrichia or Atrichia) on eyebrows or on other body parts like beard, moustache, chest, eyelash or pubic area etc. (if this loss is because of Alopecia areata or scarring alopecia Transplant is best avoided)
Scars due to injury, burns, operation etc. in the scalp, beard, eyebrow
What are technique for hair restoration?
FUE Technique
F.U.E technique is minimally invasive technique.
The grafts are extracted as individual follicular units in a two-step or three-step technique.
Grafts are harvested with 0.6to 1 mm diameter punches from the donor area and the device makes a tiny circular incision around the follicular unit to isolate the graft. The graft is then extracted directly from the scalp using a tweezers-like instrument, and then prepared for placement into the recipient area.
There is no linear scar and no stitches are required, so the donor area will be minimally noticeable within just a few days.
FUT technique
After the patient’s scalp is anesthetized, the strip of tissue from the donor area is removed, once extracted, the donor strip is cut into many individual follicular units using microscopic dissection techniques. As these follicular unit grafts are being prepared, the doctor makes tiny holes in the scalp, called recipient sites, where the grafts are placed.
A linear scar is visible after healing of donor area.
There are other non-surgical options which work on initial phases of hair loss. That includes Medications, PRP(Platelet Rich Plasma), Mesotherapy, Dermaroller and so on…
These techniques help to rejuvenate scalp and Hair which in turns affect the thin hair. Thin hair gets nourished and shrunken hair follicles again gets activated up to some limits. And helps reducing Hair fall.
